Flood & Coast 2026 brought together people from across the globe. Exhibitors, speakers and visitors gathered to explore new advancements and innovations in the engineered protection of our coastlines. This year, the event provided the perfect opportunity for us to showcase our new High Water branding to the world. Not only reconnecting with industry partners and discussing the practice realities of working around water but showcasing our innovation and problem-solving.
High Water is a new name, but not new people. Our people have established themselves as leading temporary works innovators as Robert Nicholas Limited but wanted a new brand that reflected both the challenge of the works they do and the ambition of their ideas. The conference proved an ideal platform to explain how we’re growing from a trusted brand to a force for innovation dedicated entirely to temporary water control, isolation and specialist engineering.
Keeping critical infrastructure operational
The conference highlighted current challenges in the industry, stemming from the combined weight of social, economic and climate circumstances. Many customers are struggling to maintain essential infrastructure whilst assets are operational. What would you do? Shut down vital operational assets, creating major service disruptions? Or would you rather not deliver maintenance, allowing existing intrastate to deteriorate and eventually collapse? Neither option sounds great.
This is exactly the problem High Water is dedicated to solving. We provide specialist expertise in temporary water control. Creating safe, isolated, dry working areas to allow maintenance and operations to continue alongside one another. Our solutions not only save our clients time and money, they reduce programme risk and protect the surrounding environment wherever possible.

Much like people, no two sites are the same. They all present different challenges, requiring personalised solutions. Existing structures, environmental constraints, operational requirements and water conditions all influence how we manage a project.
Discussions with visitors to our stand at the Flood & Coast conference reinforced this idea of personalised project solutions. Everyone had a project with different challenges, but a similar theme. Whether through temporary dams, flow management, specialist access or bespoke temporary works, engineering decisions should always reflect the realities of the site. One size most definitely does not fit all.
